How to Let Go Of the Struggle and Find Freedom

Jul 21, 2021

The struggle is real...or maybe letting go of it is the gateway to FREEDOM and achieving your biggest goals!

I used to always answer the question “how’s it going?” with phrases like “I’m okay” or “hanging in there” even when life and business was freaking fabulous.

For one, I think I didn’t want to come across as boastful - a story for another day - but part of it also was that part of me enjoyed the sympathy. My husband is traveling lots and I’m just a gal struggling to grow her business and raise her kids, have a life...yada yada.

That was even before COVID.

When COVID hit I fell back into my struggle story...like how was I going to build my business without going out and meeting people in person, school my kids at home, etcetera, etcetera...this situation is going to sink my business!

The struggle story allowed me to keep my expectations low, so that if I totally bombed in my business and/or life...I could just blame the struggle and my situation.

Truth is, sometimes we hold on to our struggle stories so tight because they keep us safe in mediocrity.

We are safe from really stepping out into the discomfort or fear of really putting ourselves “out there,” stepping into the ring, getting vulnerable and really going for it.

I allowed my struggle story to serve as buffering to keep myself from really going for it in my business and life.

Thankfully I have a coach that calls me on my B.S. She asked what it would be like if I just dropped the “struggle” part of my story? Just that one question gave me a feeling of such freedom!

What if none of it was a struggle...but just part of my journey?

If it wasn’t a struggle, what would I do? My answer: I’d figure it out, I’d work on my belief that I can do it, and I’d figure out a way. I’ve always been able to figure it out in the past.

What if I’d even let it be easy?!?

And in making the decision, I dropped the “struggle” story, figured it out and have gone on to put the pieces in place in my home to get the help I need, create a spacious schedule, and be there for my kids and my business...while finding enjoyment in it all.

It wasn’t perfect...like doing tech support from the shower to remedy internet issues so kids can access classes while trying to get ready on time for a day of client coaching calls.

But you know what? We are 100% capable of figuring it out...and we are 100% capable of letting it be easy! If I can do it, I’m willing to bet you are too!

So, let me ask you...what kind of freedom would you experience, what could you be free to achieve if you dropped your struggle story?
