How to Make More with Less Mind Drama
It took me forever to finally realize that I know how to make money.
My coach had been telling me this for months but I didn't believe her. I just kept on listening to the thoughts my mind was offering that I don’t know what I’m doing, everyone else has the answers but me, and everyone else is better at this than I am.
Sometimes we get tripped up by thoughts that go unquestioned.
But then I asked myself...could it be true that I DO know how to make money? And the answer is empirically, yes! I have tax returns, bank statements, and Quickbooks to prove that yes, I know how to make money and I've been making pretty good money for the last 15 years - yes, some years better than others, but nevertheless, I always figured out how to make money in my business.
Of course my inner critic is always saying it's not enough or won't be enough until I hit whatever number is the next goal out of my reach. My mind likes moving the goalpost on me. When I started offering coaching exclusively a couple years back, earning $100k was my goal, And now I've even surpassed that!
Bottom line is...I know how to make money; so if I know how to make money, I just need to believe that I do and go do it. No drama necessary. It really is that simple.
You too can keep it that simple.
The first thing you need to do to shift your thinking about your ability to build a successful business and make money is to get some awareness of what’s happening in your thoughts.
What are the stories that you’re telling yourself that are not true? What are the thoughts going unquestioned that are standing in the way of you creating the business you want?
The awareness alone will give you so much clarity and shifting in your thinking. It will help you to separate facts from drama.
Listen, the truth is, those thoughts that don’t serve us will never totally go away...they're always going to be there. We don't have to eradicate them.
We can allow them to be there and still shift to more productive, client-creating, money-making thoughts like: "I know how to make money." "I'm figuring this out." "I will never quit." "It's all an experiment, I'm willing to fail, and I'll keep trying new ideas."
Being determined is the feeling I've cultivated to be able to drop the drama, and get busy in the actions I know create clients.
